PENDULUM RECORDS & CEO/FOUNDER RUBEN RODRIGUEZ

Pendulum Records was founded in 1991 by CEO/Founder, Ruben Rodriguez. Previously Ruben Rodriguez was with Motown, Casablanca Records, Island Records and moved on to become Sr. Vice President at Columbia Records and then Sr. Vice President at Elektra Records, where he helped develop the careers of artists such as George Michael, Regina Belle, Terence Trent D’Arby, New Kids On The Block, Anita Baker, Keith Sweat, Natalie Cole, Brand Nubians and Leaders Of The New School, the group that launched Super-Star Busta Rhymes).

Among the artists signed to his Pendulum label were Grammy Award-Winning Digable Planets, critically acclaimed Boogiemonsters, Hip-Hop’s Legendary Lords Of The Underground and multi-talented Chris Walker, who’s solo debut, yielded 2 Top Five R&B hits, “Giving You All My Love” and “Take Time” (which cracked the Top 30 in POP). In 1998 Pendulum released the Platinum selling trio, Simply Divine, who’s debut single “Lately” reigned #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. Many of the artists signed to the label achieved international success.

In 2008 Pendulum Records in association with Walker Davis Entertainment signed Grammy Award Winning Artist Regina Belle, and released her first Gospel album ‘Love Forever Shines’. The first single “God is Good” quickly achieved the 2nd Highest Number of Radio Spins at Gospel Radio in the past decade, according to R&R. “God Is Good” also claimed Song of The year for 2008 at the Gospel Music Choice Awards and is nominated for a 2009 GMA Dove Awards for Traditional Gospel Recorded Song. Love Forever Shines was the #10 Top Selling Gospel Album according to Soundscan.

In 2009 Pendulum Records signed and released Gospel Award Winning Artist, Greg O’Quin & iPraize’s album “After The Storm”. The first single “Lead Me Jesus” quickly became a Top 10 song on the Billboard Charts. Greg O’Quin & iPraize were nominated for a 25th Annual Stellar Award under the category “Traditional Group of The Year”. In 2010 Pendulum Records released Gospel Artist Travis Greene’s first album “Stretching Out”. The first single “Still Here” became a Top 20th Gospel song and helped to earn Travis a 26th Annual Stellar Award nomination for “New Artist Of The Year”.

In 2011 Pendulum Records released Chris Walker’s newest R&B album for the grown and sexy “ZONE”.  With the hit single “I Got that Love” and his follow up single “Everday Woman”.  You will remember Chris from the early days of Pendulum records with his  first Pendulum release “First Time” produced two top five singles; “Giving You All My Love” and “Take Time,” which crossed over to become top 30 on the pop charts.    In 2012 Regina Belle will be releaseing her 2nd Gospel project “Higher”.
